Privacy Notice


1) Your privacy.

At Breathe Again Counselling we take your privacy very seriously, and respect your right to
control your privacy and your personal information.
Any personal information you share on our contact forms is to put you in touch directly to
arrange counselling, or to be placed on a counselling waiting list. This information is not
shared with any third parties.


This privacy notice explains how your personal information is used. It is relevant to you if you
choose to contact us to arrange counselling through Breathe Again Counselling.

Please read it carefully and make sure you understand it. It is considered that you have accepted this privacy policy if you use the website. If you do not agree with it and accept it, you must stop using the website immediately.

 

"We" and "us" are Breathe Again Counselling.

The "Data Protection Officer" is Jane Dyson.
We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under registration number
00018294598


2) Personal information.
If you leave personal information on our contact page or submit it through this website, we will keep it private and store it securely until we no longer need it.

We only use it to provide the service(s) you require.

In leaving your personal information you are agreeing to it being shared with a counsellor, and
understand that there are no absolute guarantees to the security of information shared over
the internet. Only Breathe Again Counselling has access to this data, and uses it to
arrange your therapy and ongoing contact. We only ask for the minimum amount of
information, used to put you in touch for face-to-face or online counselling sessions. Please do not share sensitive information, and only share what you are comfortable leaving with us.


3) Information collected automatically.
Whenever you visit this website technical information such as clicks, browsing methods, and
information about your visit may be collected by Wix. Wix does not have access to the personal
information shared on this website. Cookies may be stored to analyse web

performance and improve services. Under the UK Data (Use and Access ) Act 2025,
statistical cookies used just to improve a service can be set without a person’s permission.
You can opt out of statistical cookies through your browser settings.


4) What your personal information is used for.
Your information is taken in order for you to be put in touch with us to arrange therapy, or
be placed on a waiting list for therapy. Once that contact has taken place and you have
signed a contract and agreed to begin counselling with us then you have agreed for Breathe Again Counselling to store your data appropriately. This is all set out in your contract.

If you are placed on a waiting list you agree for us to keep your contact information until a place becomes available or until you contact us again to ask to be removed from the list.

If no session can be arranged for any reason, and once contact has ended, any messages and all personal information will be deleted.


5) Keeping your personal information.
We keep your information for as long as it is needed to provide the services you require.
Contact form enquiries that do not lead to client sessions are deleted. Personal information

taken to enable client therapy is kept for 7 years after therapy has finished, unless the client
requests it to be destroyed. All sensitive data is kept on paper, as detailed in the client
contract. Any contact details are kept with the client’s permission in case the client requires
further future counselling.


6) Your rights.
Under GDPR law you have the right to get a copy of any information we keep about you.
This is listed in the client contract and signed before therapy commences. You also have the
rights to ask for any data to be corrected, to object to how your information is used, to
transfer any data to another organisation and to ask for your data to be deleted.

Complaints.


We are committed to dealing with any concerns you might have about your personal
information. If you have any concerns then please contact
complaints@breatheagaincounselling.co.uk detailing your complaints.

We will acknowledge complaints within 30 days.
